Got my first RC car at the age of 8. It was a Grasshopper buy Tamiya
Got my first race RC car at 9. It was a RC10 Won my first race at age 10.
I lived 10 blocks from the hobby store / track my whole life, well till I moved from mom and dads at age 19 in 1991.
I don’t race as much as I did from 1982 to 1993 but I have a nice collection of RC trucks, boats, and now my new thing 3D helicopters.
I do make it out to The Dirt in Hemet, CA and Thunder Alley in Beaumont, CA but I’m not racing on a scheduled session for points.
I do have my oune track with all the hookups like triples, table top, woops, massive ¼ pipe jump with nice down slope for hard landings, all wrapped in nice carved out burms for full speed turns. Not for the timid racer or non basher, my track can break your rig if you do not hit every thing just right. (But I’ll kick your but for a 12 pack)
I do have my family. One wife that knows little about my RC habit other then it costs a lot of money, and one daughter that just loves to watch her dada play with his toys.
We water-ski for fun and go as fast as we can in the jet boat we call Bella’s Boat (Bella is my daughter)
So I spend a lot of time tinkering on the 502ci in the boat so we can go a little faster every year.
To pay for all this and support the family I’m an MCSE/MCDBA (Microsoft Network Engineer and Database Administrator). Mostly Contract work some times Ill work for a Company for a wile, not long. I have been in communications since 1991.
