OK so I am looking into getting some FLM 1/8th hybrid bulks and I will be using Unlimited Engineering (UE) Spyder 6 differential gears.

The issues I have had people tell me are

Quotes from another forum by people who tried to make UE diffs fit the FLM 1/8 hybrid bulks:

1) "I got sucked into the 1/8th scale Fastlane buckless systems thinking I'd save a few bucks on a beater on-road truck. Well as stated before it was a big mistake, I should have stuck with the VBS. Get this...the holes for the diff outputs will not accept UE output drive cups??? Now who thought this brain child up. As far as I know the only place to get 1/8th diff equipment is UE. Well they made the "bulkless" system to accept the standard buggy output diff cups, and as far as I know you can't use those on a Tmaxx...which is what there "bulkless" is for. So I spent 2 hours tonight with a dremel trying to take just enough off for them to fit, but not too much that the bearing would fall out. The quality isn't the greatest and it didn't come with the basics like all the UE stuff does."

2) "I wanted a VBS too, but it was/is out of stock.. So it left me with no other option than the FLM's..

You are right, the holes are too small for the ofna diffs, i used a conical reamer to get them bigger. the normal UE diffcups allow you to adjust and mesh the gears till you weight an ounce.. (which is good!) those FLM's simple are too tight, you can't adjust them propperly imo, i needed to make the bearing sit deeper in the housing. ANother point is that the housings aren't perfectly flat.. (deforming due to a wrong followed CNC process) Making them perfectly flat takes more material away, so the shimming issue get's wors)..

It took me about 5-6 hours to get them right.. (i don't mind too much, it began to came a principle) but i more felt like a beta-beta-tester, than a happy customer) If only the VBS system was available at that time....

And the UE racerX arms don't fit them either, you need to make the FLM's fit those as well.. weird thing was.. I was not surprised at all...

And the knucklehead towers aren't a 1:1 fit either... (the screw that holds the cups together is in placed wrong...)"

If someone can tell me if any of all of these problems are fixed or not I would really apreciate it

Those quotes you listed are from an older forum. I believe.

As for the drive cup hole: It is not that we machined the hole to small but rather UE machined the cup larger than the standard buggy drive cup. Which is better but not all that necessary. We designed our products around what is available not what UE has. We have long since opened the hole up to allow them to fit with UE parts.
The best diff IMO is the one from Hot Bodies parts# 8084-1. It comes completely assembled, is hardened and has the best value. They also have a diff from the truggy that will give you more gear reduction.

Any diff will fit the Hybrid so long as the ring gear is no larger than 1.500 inches.

And for the fit of the diff: We do not machine them sloppy so they require shimming, only to fine tune the shimming. One thing you need to be sure is that the bearings seat completely in the bearing pocket. Not all are that way and we do not want them that way. It is just something you need to make sure happens. Obviously the ones that posted the problem did not make sure that happened. Besides who says UE is not at fault? Maybe their cup is machined longer than the stock one? Who knows. Either way. You have 2 different companies machining parts from a plastic part that can move in either direction depending on the weather.
So you are bound to have an issue here or there.

Not sure what he meant by perfectly flat.

However I assure you any issues there may have been, have been taking care. And should you have any problems we will help. We guarantee that all out parts will fit with stock components. As for the hybrid bulk we guarantee stock 1/8 buggy diffs will fit.

And for the price our bulks cannot be beat
