i still dont understand why everybody wants to change to buggy gears and deal with the headache regearing it? i rebuilt my t-maxx with robinson racing hardend steel gears in the diffs and tranny with the rr spurgear and a traxxas bell gear behind an OS18tm and have no problem with breaking or blowing up diffs and the only thing ive done to the tranny is wear down the primary shaft where the one way berring rides for the 2nd speed gears! the diffs are built with the maximizer products alum diff cups! i take it to skate parks the desert jump it off clifs platues and any thing i can find and the drive train keeps coming back for more! and the mip cvs are a great addition all the way around dont forget the half shafts to! so if you can give me a good reason to put 1/8 buggy gears in my truck ide like to know!

The number 1 reason would be for tuning the diff. And for overall strength. You can fix it and forget it.

The Robinson Racing gears are much better than stock, and the stock bits are not that bad, depending on the power you put down. With alot of power these diffs will not hold up as well as buggy gears.

The single biggest thing to do is to lose the plastic diff case and cup with an aluminum one. This is the biggest cause of blowing diffs.
